LRI supports research aimed at better management of leprosy-related complications and minimising long-term disability. This includes improving the management of leprosy reactions (focusing on improving treatment rather than developing new drugs) and chronic pain, addressing post-treatment sequelae consequences, enhancing early detection and response to reactions, and managing nerve damage and disabilities effectively.
